This was my first year taking part in the relay myself. We have previously donated to support teams in the relay. I personally wanted to take part in the relay this year when the opportunity came up to help Hope Walls and the Cancer Society photograph the event here in Edmonton. My family has been touched by cancer in so many ways.
I have had many family members taken by cancer and a few even survivors of cancer. My family and extended family has endured skin, kidney, breast, testicular, blood, bone and brain cancer. On April 11, 2005, my uncle was taken from the family after battling the worst strain of brain cancer for at least 18 months. The diagnosis is up to one year. My auntie has recently been rediagnosed with cancer shortly after the relay took place.
The relay is about celebration.

The relay is about fighting back.

The relay is about remembering.

More fun, emotion, memories, research and hope in the years to come. Help support a loved one, cheer on a team, participate and help out with research through funds.
