I am a wife to my best friend.
I am a mother to our beautiful girls.
I am a bucket holder.
I am a carpet cleaner.
I am a laundry mat.
I am a toilet scrubber.
I am very sleep deprived.
I am not a good housekeeper.
I am at my wits end.
Yes, that is not a great list but that has been my struggle this past week. I have taken some time today to revisit my list and this is what I am.
- I am a mother to our beautiful girls.
- I am a wife to my best friend.
- I am a daughter, sister, auntie and niece.
- I am a huge family person and love spending time with my husband and daughters. Good times or bad I learn so much from the most important people in my life and they do make me stronger.
- I am shy and very passive. I am working on changing and being more outgoing.
- I am a listener. You can talk to me for hours and I will listen.
- I am very creative and artistic.
- I am a photographer at home, and nervous and excited to pursue it farther.
- I am losing sleep because I can't stop thinking.
- I am still looking for my passion so I don't have to go to "work". I will only "play" all day long. I think photography might be that passion but time will tell.

I think you hit on something very important to know, Helena, and that is - we are not static creatures. Two things come from that knowledge. One: We are different every day, and having that awareness is an important aspect of photography and understanding why some days are 'off'. I used to think there were some people I just didn't click with (pun entirely intended lol) but now I know that 99% of the time it's not them, it's me. Two: We have the power to change our minds. If we are aware of our state of mind, our emotional status, and the effect these have on our photographs, we can learn to bring out different qualities in both ourselves and our subjects. Often, the only thing that needs to change is our perspective. LOVE this - great reading, Helena!
